Main Excursion:
The main excursion is for all participants of the ISOBM 2010 and will take place at the 6th September 2010. The prize for this excursion is included in the regular fee you have paid. We depart by bus at noon from Klinikum Großhadern and our first destination will be Schloss Nymphenburg.

Nymphenburg Palace:
The Baroque palace in the west part of Munich was the summer residence of the Bavarian monarchs. Five generations of Wittelsbach rulers were involved in the construction of this stately ensemble, which houses several outstanding collections.
With its lavishly decorated interior and the famous "Gallery of Beauties" commissioned by Ludwig I, the palace is one of Munich's favourite attractions. Among the highlights are the former bedroom of King Ludwig II and the impressive banquet hall with fine ceiling frescoes by Johann Baptist Zimmermann. A guided tour of the palace and a walk through the lovely park will be provided, as well as a packed lunch.

Lake Starnberg:

Afterwards the bus will take us to the Lake Starnberger See. Starting from Starnberg the suburb of "the rich and famous" the MS Starnberg a modern catamaran will seesaw us through Bavarian’s second biggest lake. The heritage of Ludwid II the "Prince Charming", will be visible in many beautiful castles and magnificent villas around the lake.

During this amazing boat trip we will serve you coffee and snacks on deck.

Kloster Andechs

Andechs:
Our next destination is Andechs Monastery, where we will spend the rest of the day.
Located on the Holy Mountain above the eastern shore of Lake Ammersee in the middle of Upper Bavaria’s Five-Lakes Region, Andechs Monastery is easily visible from far away. For more than half a millennium it has been a cherished destination for pilgrims.
During your stay you get the chance to visit the monastery church with its different chapels, its beautiful Rococo frescoes and its lovely stucco work. Afterwards we will join an organ concert and have a traditional Bavarian “Brotzeit” with lots of Bavarian delicacies and lots of beer from the Andechs Monastery Brewery.
